Sheneneh was Born in Detroit and raised by her grandmother, Shirley Jenkins, while her mother, Shannon Lee Jenkins, was in jail. Her mother went to jail when Sheneneh was just 2 years old. Sheneneh's father is unknown. Her mother was released from prison when Sheneneh graduated high school.
Sheneneh worked in a salon as a teen because she got into fights in school and her grandmother was there working as a secretary. Sheneneh initially worked in the salon sweeping hair, then by high school, she was doing hair and nails. By age 18, she was promoted to manager and changed the name of the salon to "Sheneneh's Sho'nuff Hair Salon
Sheneneh is mostly notable for starting fights with Gina and Pam (mostly out of jealously of Martin's relationship with Gina). Sheneneh lives across the hall from Martin in apartment 41. Sheneneh has a small crush on Martin which is why she usually picks at Gina despite Gina trying to be cordial. In season 1, Martin reveals on his radio show that 2 years before meeting Gina, he tried to have sex with Sheneneh but Sheneneh didn't answer the door. Sheneneh appeared in every season of the show.
